Public Works

The Public Works Department provides transportation, environmental and water treatment services in a safe, effective, and efficient manner to ensure the sustainability of its infrastructure. The department maintains the Town's storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water systems which include a sewage treatment plant and 12 wells. Public Works is also responsible for maintenance of the Jitney trail, town greenspaces, parks and sports fields, and Town buildings.

Snow removal and salting is managed by Public Works. The Public Works department maintains and services all town vehicles. Department staff  provide assistance for Town festivals and events, such as the Lobster Carnival, the Hector Festival and to other Departments for special projects. 

The Public Works Services Building is located on Brown's Point Road.
