Town of Pictou Operations - Updates

March 23, 2020 - The Town of Pictou is suspending front counter services to protect the health of staff, citizens and their families. Everyone is encouraged to follow the recommendations of the health authorities and practice social distancing to reduce the spread of Covid 19.

Town services continue to be available. If you require assistance, you may do so by:

  • Phoning the Administration Office at 902-485-4372 and leaving a message; or
  • Emailing: info@townofpictou.ca

Someone will get back to you as soon as possible during regular working hours. The public’s patience is appreciated during this time, as we are experiencing higher than normal inquiries.

You are encouraged to visit the Town website and Facebook for ongoing updates and more detailed information.

Regular Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

Taxes and Water Billings

Payment of tax and water accounts continue to be accepted through online and telephone banking via financial institutions, telephone banking or by cheque/money order sent to PO Box 640, Pictou, NS, B0K 1H0.

To begin you must have a separate payee for each; taxes and water.

FOR TAXES

1. Search Pictou

2. Select “Pictou (Town of) Taxes”

3. Enter account number - must be
    8 digits; if not add 00s 
    in front of the account number.

 

For example: 
Account Number: 102436; enter as 00102436

FOR WATER

1. Search Pictou

2. Select “Pictou (Town of) Water”

3. Enter account number - must be
    6 digits; do not include the .00 in
    the account number. If you need more digits
    add 00s in front of your account number

For example
Account Number: 17042.00; enter as 017042

March 22, 2020 - Playground Closure in the Town of Pictou
Due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) the Town of Pictou will be closing the following playgrounds effective immediately until further notice - Broidy Park Playground, Veterans Drive Playground and Pine Street Playground. Signs are being posted but there will be no physical barrier as we do not want to create a public safety hazard.

March 16, 2020 - Pictou Fisheries Training Pool, Town of Pictou
The Pictou Fisheries Pool will be closed effective immediately to reduce the spread of COVID 19 Pandemic and to ensure the safety of our staff and the public. Please keep watch on Town website and Facebook for updates.
