Veterans Drive
Public Input Session

Monday, October 22nd, 2018 at 6:30 pm
Town of Pictou Council Chambers
40 Water Street, 3rd Floor

Background:

In December 2017 Pictou Town Council converted the section of Veterans Drive from the intersection with Dunromin Terrace to the boundary of the Royal Canadian Legion Parking lot to One-Way Traffic Northbound. The purpose of the change was to insure the safety of the local residents by reducing traffic flow to the neighbourhood. The Resolution called for a review of the decision after one year.

The Mayor and Councillors have received numerous written and verbal submissions from groups and individuals throughout the year but would appreciate hearing from individual community members as part of the review process. Therefore, Town of Pictou Residents are invited to express their personal views on October 22nd at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Those wishing to speak will be given a limited amount of time to make statements and may be asked questions by Council members for clarity.

Note: The issue will not be debated by Council at that time and the decision to either maintain the section of Veterans Drive as One-Way or return it to Two-Way traffic will be discussed at the November 2018 meetings.
