Special Notice: Proof of Vaccine, Recreational and Non-Essential Activities

Posted by Michelle Young on 1 October 2021

Special Notice: On October 4th, we go into Phase 5 of the Province of Nova Scotia Reopening Plan. Beginning Monday, it will be required to show proof of double vaccination when attending all non-essential recreational activities. This will include programs and facilities managed by Pictou Recreation and Parks.
Here is what to expect:
- When you arrive to the program you will have to show Pictou Recreation and/or Aquatic Staff your proof of double vaccination.
- Proof of vaccination can be shown on a cell phone or paper copy.
- You only need proof of vaccination once upon registration or attendance at a program. For drop in programming you may be required to show proof of vaccination more than once. For example public swims.
It is recommended to always carry proof of vaccination when attending all programs and facilities managed through Pictou Recreation and Parks.
If you are not double vaccinated:
You are kindly asked to not attend a recreation program or visit the Pictou Fisheries Pool until you have received your second dose of vaccine and are able to show proof.
REMEMBER: When attending recreational programs and facilities indoors you will still be required to wear a mask until the activity begins, for example exercising or swimming.
We appreciate your cooperation as we continue to navigate this together. Please stay healthy and safe, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
