Here is what you need to know:
- The Clean Up will run for 2 weeks beginning April 20th.
- For residential properties only.
- Each street will only be collected once – if you miss the pickup, you must remove items from the curb
- These items can be delivered year-round to the Pictou County Solid Waste site, 220 Landfill Road, Mount William
- Place items out no more than 48 hours prior to April 20 at 7 am
- Pickup will start in the west and work its way east
- No cardboard – it is banned from the landfill and falls apart if it gets wet
- Only clear bags will be accepted

Items that will be collected (please place in 3 distinct piles based on bullets below):
- Steel or scrap metal – automotive parts, bicycles, hot water tanks, fridges, freezers (refrigerant or coolant must be removed), empty propane and oxygen tanks
- Large or bulky items – furniture, carpet, strollers, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers, water coolers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers
- CFL and florescent bulbs

Items that will not be collected:
- Asphalt shingles, construction and demolition materials – take to Pictou County Solid Waste site
- Anything with refrigerant or coolant must be properly removed or taken to PC Solid Waste site
- Leaves, brush and yard waste – place at curbside for Pictou County Solid Waste May 28 collection
- Batteries and electronics (TVs, computers, microwaves, monitors, printers, audio and video playback, recording systems, telephones) – take to Pictou County Solid Waste site or other ACES drop off
- Small batteries only – Drop off at the Pictou Town Office, 40 Water St or other municipal offices
- Recyclable items and regular garbage items
- Oil and tires – return to service station for disposal
