Public Notice: Water Break - August 15 - Front Street

UPDATE: There is no water at this time on Front St. from Colaraine to Chapel St. including Depot St. and the upper portion of Caladh Avenue.
PUBLIC NOTICE: There is a water main break on Front Street. Area affected is from Coleraine Street to Welsford Street. Town Public Works Department is working on the repair now. Updates will be posted when available.

Final Tax Bills have been issued. If you do not receive your bill by August 27/25 please contact the Town Office at 902-485-4372 to verify we have your correct mailing address.

Multiple departments across Pictou County including Pictou Fire Department have responded to reports of a smell of smoke early this morning.
With several fires burning throughout the province, our area will continue to experience a strong smell of smoke until wind direction or weather conditions change.
All departments have been advised that as a precaution, DNR will investigate the area.
If you see a wildfire or a violation, the Nova Scotia Government and DNR are asking you to call 1 800 565 2224
If you are in immediate danger, always call 911.

Public Notice - Jitney Trail - Film Shoot, August 17

On Sunday, August 17th, a film crew will be working on the Jitney Trail for approximately 2 hours. This activity will take place between the Pictou Waterfront and Brown’s Point Road only.
The project has been approved by the Department of Natural Resources under the Restricted Travel Zone Permit process. The crew will follow all specific requirements outlined in the permit.
