Expression of Interest - Pictou Waterfront Seasonal Vendor Opportunities

The Town of Pictou is inviting interested companies and individuals to submit an Expression of Interest to operate and lease seasonal commercial space on the Pictou Waterfront for the 2026 season.
The Pictou Waterfront is a vibrant travel destination on the Northumberland Shore and an integral part of the overall “Pictou” experience. The area is home to key attractions such as the Hector Heritage Quay, the deCoste Performing Arts Centre, the Northumberland Fisheries Museum, the Jitney Trail (Trans Canada Trail), and serves as a gathering place for community events, including outdoor concerts and festivals.
There are two waterfront locations owned by the Town of Pictou available through this EOI process:
- Food Truck Location – Love Local Vendor Village
27 Creighton Street
This designated location is intended for a food truck operation as part of the Love Local Vendor Village on the Pictou Waterfront. - Street Side Location – Curling Rink
End of the New Caledonian Curling Rink (exterior space), 66 Caladh Avenue
This space is open to a variety of potential uses. The Town is receptive to creative proposals and ideas for activation of this area, including but not limited to vending, food service, or experiential products that enhance the waterfront experience. Proponents are encouraged to submit proposals and ideas that align with the character of the waterfront, contribute to visitor experience, and complement existing attractions and events.
Submission Requirements
Interested companies or individuals must submit an Expression of Interest that includes the following information:

- Business address (if applicable)
- Proposed Location
- Indicate which location you are applying for:
- Food Truck Location – Love Local Vendor Village, 27 Creighton Street
- Open-Use Street-Side Location, 66 Caladh Avenue
- Indicate which location you are applying for:
- Description of Proposed Use
- A clear description of the proposed operation, product, or service
- Type of use (e.g., food service, vending, experiential or interactive offering)
- How the proposal will enhance the waterfront experience for residents and visitors
- Operational Details
- Proposed dates; seasonal duration (e.g., full season)
- Estimated footprint or space requirements
- Utility needs, if any (e.g., power, water)
- Experience and Qualifications
- Relevant experience operating a similar business or concept
- Examples of previous operations, events, or locations (if applicable)
- Photos, website links, or social media accounts may be included
- Design and Presentation
- Description of the visual appearance of the food truck, vendor setup, or installation
- How the design aligns with the character and aesthetic of the Pictou Waterfront
- Health, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance
- Confirmation of ability to obtain required permits, licenses, and approvals
- For food service proposals, confirmation of willingness to comply with provincial health regulations
- Proof of insurance (to be provided upon selection)
- Financial Proposal
- Any additional value or benefits offered (e.g., local sourcing, community engagement)

Submission Format and Deadline
- Submissions must be provided in digital format (PDF preferred) and emailed to:
