Fisheries Training Pool YMCA

We’re excited to share that the YMCA of Pictou County has taken over the operations at the Fisheries Training Pool. Moving forward, the facility will operate under new YMCA management. This marks a new chapter for the pool, as the YMCA brings its expertise in aquatic programming, community outreach, and health and wellness services to the space. The aim is to enhance your experience and offer high-quality programs for individuals of all ages and abilities.

Town of Pictou Accessibility Plan

The Town of Pictou has updated its Accessibility Plan in collaboration with people with disabilities, their families, community organizations, and residents. Public Notice: Upcoming Fire Inspections

The Town of Pictou will be conducting routine fire inspections for the following property types:

Commercial buildings
Industrial facilities
Multi-unit residential buildings with more than 4 unit                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

These inspections are part of our municipal responsibility to ensure compliance with the Fire Code and to help maintain the safety of our community.

Jason LaGreca, who has been appointed as a Town Fire Inspector, will be carrying out these inspections. He will be in uniform with a name badge to verify his identity.

Inspections will begin within the next couple of weeks. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for all.
